At the same time, we maintain high expectations, encouraging discipline, commitment, and excellence in their learning.
How long will it take my child to complete Hifdh?
The duration of Hifdh varies for each child. Students generally take 2-3 years to complete their initial memorization of the Quran. We highly recommend students continue an additional year after their initial memorization to solidify their revision.
At Qalam, we emphasize that Hifdh is a journey—one that prioritizes quality over quantity. Our focus is on building a meaningful connection with the Qur’an, trusting the process, and ensuring students retain what they memorize.
What if my child doesn’t qualify for Part-Time Hifdh right now?
We encourage students to strengthen their Qur’an reading and memorization skills through Qalam’s After-School Maktab Program. Our admissions assessment will include personalized recommendations for next steps.
Are scholarships available?
Yes. For inquiries about scholarships, please email hifdh@qalaminstitute.org.
Is there a separate program for boys and girls?
No, boys and girls will be in the same class while adhering to Islamic guidelines.

What level of Qur’an proficiency is required before entering Hifdh?
Students must be very fluent in Qur’an reading with proper Tajweed and demonstrate the ability to memorize and retain their memorization.
What qualities will help my child become successful in this Hifdh Program?
Successful Hifdh students demonstrate discipline, committing to daily memorization and review with consistency. They are teachable, showing a willingness to learn and accept guidance. Humility is key, as they respect the Qur’an and the learning process. Additionally, they must have focus, the ability to concentrate for extended periods, and drive, maintaining internal motivation and perseverance throughout their journey.
